In the New Testament, to be a Christian is to belong to a local church. In Acts 2:41, it is clear that people were “added” to the Jerusalem church upon repentance, faith in Christ, and baptism. And Christians are given commands that only make sense in light of being attached to a local church. To become a member at Grace Community Baptist Church, there are 3 steps.

Step 1: Attend A Membership Class

  • Why Join a Church?
  • What does Grace Community Believe?
  • What You Need To Know About Grace Community
  • What Do We Expect of Church Members?

Step 2: Membership Interview

After you have attended the Membership Class, a meeting with 1 or 2 Elders will be scheduled. This meeting allows the elders to get to know you and gives you the opportunity to ask further questions about Grace Community Baptist Church in an informal setting.
Step 3: Congregational Affirmation

The final step in our membership process involves the elders recommending you for membership to the congregation. As we are congregationally-governed, the church will then vote to affirm you as a new member into our church family during a members’ meeting.
The decision to join a church is an important one. At Grace Community, we want to equip you to make the wisest decision possible before joining a church, so before you join Grace Community or any other church, ask yourself these ten questions.

If you would like to know more about our membership process or schedule an interview with one of our elders, please contact Todd Terry, Lead Pastor.
